So which one suits me?
The one that cuts the bill most. Air chambers inside the profile and a steel reinforcement through the middle. The trade-off is a thicker frame, so slightly less glass.

What people always ask me.
What does it cost to replace windows?
I cannot give you a price over the phone without lying to you. It depends on the material, the size of the opening, the opening type, the glazing, and whether the blind has to be touched. That is why the measuring visit is free: I come, I look, and you get a fixed number in writing.
Are there grants or subsidies?
Yes. Spain has grants and tax deductions for improving home insulation, and they change by year, by region and by your particular case. I will tell you what I know and provide any technical documentation you are asked for, but your gestor is the one who files it. I will not promise you an amount that is not mine to give.
How long does it take?
A normal home is usually days, not weeks. The terrace enclosure further up this page was started on 5 August and finished on the 7th. The slow part is almost never the fitting: it is the manufacturing lead time on the material.
Is it a big job? Does everything get covered in dust?
Less than you would think. The sash comes off, the old frame comes out, the new one goes in and gets sealed. There is dust, I will not pretend otherwise, but it is covered up before we start and cleaned when we finish. In most homes you can sleep there the same night.
PVC or aluminium?
Depends on your home, not on my catalogue. PVC insulates better and cuts the bill more. Aluminium gives a slimmer frame, more glass, and handles hard sun and sea air better. There is a comparison with real figures further up.
Do you work with a particular brand?
With all of them, and I am not an official dealer for any. That is deliberate. I do not have anyone sales target to hit, so I can recommend the system that suits your home even when it is not the expensive one.
What guarantee comes with it?
Two to five years depending on the material we fit. It is written into the quote, before you decide, not after.
What if only one thing is broken?
Then it gets repaired. A catch, a seal, a blind strap or a dropped sash is no reason to replace the whole window. If it can be fixed I will tell you, even though I earn less that way.
